A Texas family practice, now in its second generation

Patterson Law Group was founded in 1995 in Arlington, Texas by Michael H. Patterson, a Tarrant County lawyer who set out to build a personal injury firm where the case decisions were made by the lawyer on the file — not by an insurance adjuster or a referral broker. Three decades later, the firm Mike started has grown into a multi-office Texas plaintiffs' practice with offices in Fort Worth, Arlington, and San Antonio, more than $100 million recovered for clients, and a roster of trial lawyers who carry that same founding standard forward.

Today the firm is led by Managing Partner Travis Patterson, Mike's son. Travis earned his B.B.A. in Finance and his J.D. from The University of Texas at Austin, served as visiting prosecutor in the Arlington Municipal Court, clerked for the Honorable Lawrence E. Meyers of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, and practiced at Shannon, Gracey, Ratliff & Miller in Fort Worth and Haynes and Boone in Dallas before teaming up with his father and Travis' wife, Anna, forming what we now call Patterson Law Group. Together with Head of Litigation Tennessee W. Walker, Partners Greg McCarthy and Kolter Jennings, San Antonio Partner Chris Mazzola, and Attorneys Riley Waters, Claire Fore, and Zach Louton, the lawyers of Patterson Law Group represent injured Texans from every corner of the state.

The firm's roots in Tarrant County run deeper than the practice itself. Travis's grandfather, Harold Patterson, served as Mayor of Arlington from 1983 to 1987 and on the Arlington City Council for more than two decades. Mike Patterson served on the Arlington School Board and the city's Planning & Zoning Commission. His uncle, Roy English, served as Tarrant County Judge and in the Texas House of Representatives. Three generations of public service to North Texas inform how PLG approaches the cases its clients bring it: with the seriousness those clients deserve and the durability that 30 years of community standing requires.

How are Patterson Law Group cases staffed?
Every Patterson Law Group case is staffed with a responsible attorney who owns the strategy, a paralegal who manages records and documents, and a case manager who is the client's direct point of contact for day-to-day questions. Litigation matters add a litigation attorney from Tennessee Walker's team and, on catastrophic cases, an investigator and the experts the case calls for — accident reconstructionists, life-care planners, biomechanical engineers, treating physicians, and economists. Clients always know which attorney is on their file.
